Entrepreneur and not ready to fail?
“Overcoming Fear of Failure” is a project that is funded by the Erasmus program of the European Union I helped started with SMART IDEA and six other partners from five different countries: Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Bulgaria.
Aiming to solve the most important problems that stop young people from starting their own venture, we explored the roots of our culture of shame (Shame culture).
The fear of failure is a real and present force that can hold you back from achieving your goals. But it doesn’t have to be! There are ways to overcome the fear of entrepreneurship, and if we’re able to do so, we’ll see more people take the risk necessary for entrepreneurship. The first step in overcoming this fear is understanding what entrepreneurship really entails. Entrepreneurship isn’t just taking a leap into the unknown; it’s about analyzing your idea and doing as much work as possible beforehand so that when you jump off that cliff, you’ve got all the safety equipment there waiting for you on high ground. You need to know what will happen when you fail before entrepreneurship becomes an option. This way, rather than being paralyzed by thoughts of failure, you’ll be empowered by the knowledge that no matter what happens, you’ve done everything possible to ensure successful entrepreneurship.
Organizations involved in the project will develop innovative methods, tools, and guidance for working with young people. With our methods and tools for youth, we will strive to prevent/mitigate the feeling of fear in terms of failing by using positive psychology (Positive psychology). In the coming year, we will be researching and promoting the use of positive psychology to change how people view life’s errors.
Follow the Facebook page for more information about the intellectual products to be developed in the project, as well as the inclusion of young people in training groups on our developed working methodology.
